Celal Kadooğlu, Chair of the Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association, stated that 30 percent of Southeastern Anatolia’s cereal exports during the January–November period were directed towards African markets.

Kadooğlu noted that this resulted in a 17.3 per cent growth, generating 967.2 million dollars in revenue.
Pointing out that their steady performance in exports shows that their region views Africa not as a temporary alternative, but as a permanent and strategic growth area, Kadooğlu said, “While deepening our presence in established markets such as Djibouti, Ghana and Sudan, the strong increases recorded in Togo and Benin point to the potential for rapid scaling in Sub-Saharan Africa with the right contacts and the right instruments. The Sectoral Procurement Delegation programme we organised in November for Ghana, Benin and Togo clearly demonstrated the results of this approach on the ground.”

“The fact that 35 African companies held approximately 1,000 bilateral meetings with nearly 100 Turkish companies and visited our production facilities confirms that trade is not solely sales-oriented but is based on trust, continuity and supply chain integration. We prioritise transforming steady growth in African markets into lasting commercial partnerships through such targeted programmes in the coming period,” he added…
