WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT A LAVENDER FIELD IN MERSİN?

Lavender production, which started on 1.5 decares of land in 2018 in Gülnar district of Mersin province, increased by 100 times due to its high yield and adaptation to the region and reached 150 decares this year.

Lavender field, established on 1.5 decares of land in 2018 in Bardat Plateau in Gülnar district of Mersin, has become a priority alternative product due to the quality of the product obtained, high yield and adaptation to the region. Today, lavender production has reached 150 decares in the district, since the oil used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors has provided high profit for the producers. Lavenders are providing a profit for their producers and it is like a movie plateau for those who take pictures with a visual feast in purple.

‘Those who want to see our lavender field can come and see whenever they want’

Gülnar District Governor Mustafa Ayvat, Gülnar Mayor Alpaslan Ünüvar, Mut Mayor Volkan Şeker, Aydıncık Mayor Ferhat Aktan, Bozyazı Mayor Mustafa Çetinkaya visited the lavender fields in the district.

İlhan Ulu, the business person who established the first lavender field in order to contribute to the region, said, “We planted the lavender in our land for 1.5 decares in terms of being an alternative product for our region two years ago, we harvested crops in the first year. Those who want to see our lavender field can come and see whenever they want and have information about lavender cultivation.”
