In Turkey, the country where the highest raisin production is made across the world, export figures make business circles happy.
According to data of Aegean Exporters’ Associations and Manisa Commodity Exchange, as of July 4, 2020, 280 thousand 403 tons of grapes have been registered in the ongoing 2019-2020 season, while 222 thousand 81 thousand tons of this grapes were exported. 457 million 391 thousand 221 dollars of revenue was obtained too.
Despite the 2019/2020 season has not being finished yet, according to data obtained from the Aegean Exporters’ Associations and Manisa Commodity Exchange, 280 thousand 403 tons of grapes were registered as of July 4, 2020, while 79.20 percent, in other words 222 thousand 81 thousand tons, were exported. 457 million 391 thousand 221 dollars of revenue was obtained in return.
Stating that Manisa’s farmer is working hard to obtain quality products in grape, Manisa Commodity Exchange Chairman Sadık Özkasap said, “The countries we export the most are England, Germany, Holland, Italy and France, that is, our grapes are mostly consumed in European countries.”
“Manisa province makes almost 90 percent of raisin production in Turkey. In this context, we we have been trying to do our best to promote Turkey’s grape in the world,” Özkasap added…
