“We ensured the commercialisation of our project within the scope of Summer Fancy Food Show in the USA”

Press release…

The ‘Turkish Tastes-TURQUALITY Project on the Importance of Turkish Products in Healthy Nutrition’, supported by the Ministry of Trade with the participation of 6 food exporter associations under the roof of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), which aims to make Turkish food products more preferred in the USA, the world’s largest food importer, continues successfully.

Aegean Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chair Jak Eskinazi, EIB Food Associations’ and US chefs Tom Macrina and John Bryne, who were invited to Türkiye for the filming of the Turkish Tastes promotional film, held a press conference.

Mehmet Ali Işık, Head of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that the primary purpose of all the activities they carry out as exporters’ associations is to achieve commercial results.

Pointing out that they are implementing the 5th year of their project this year and they will give the greatest importance to commercialisation in the remaining years, Işık said, “This year, we ensured the commercialisation of our project within the scope of the USA Summer Fancy Food Show, where we organised the 25th National Participation. Our brand ambassador Chef Tom Macrina and his friends took our presentation to the next level with the menus prepared with our products first in the fair area and then at the reception we held at the New York Turkish House. Our 39 participating companies from across the country had the opportunity to benefit directly from our project. The comments we received from other participating countries also made us happy.”

“We were also proud of the fact that the reception we held at the Turkevi was the first event attended by the Ambassadors of countries such as the USA, the UK and France and that over forty diplomats, twenty of whom were ambassadors, attended. From now on, we will continue on our way by combining all the activities we will carry out both in the USA and in other countries with the achievements of our project. As for our sector data, Türkiye’s dried fruit exports to the USA soared by 5 percent in the previous year and reached a volume of 132 million dollars. For the future, we will continue all our support for the continuation of this positive trend in our country’s exports of dried fruits and all other sector products to the USA.” Işık added…
