Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB) have increased its share in Türkiye’s total manufactured exports to 41 percent in 2023
Türkmen Türkmenoğlu, Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Board, said that Türkiye’s total exports of fruit and vegetable products in 2023 were realised as 2 billion 416 million dollars.
EİB has ramped up its share in the country’s total exports from 36 percent to 41 percent in 2023.
“Our sector has a very important place in boosting our export income by adding added value to the products. Compared to 2022, the effect of added value is also seen in export unit prices in 2023. In 2023, the product groups with the highest hike in unit prices were alcoholic beverages, jams, sauces, dried vegetables and pickles. I can state that our export unit price has soared in almost all product groups,” he said.
“As the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector under the leadership of our Ministry of Trade, we are excited to standardise a new Turquality Project in 2024 under the coordination of our Association,” he noted.
Pointing out that in the project, which they will start by targeting the UK and China markets, he added, “We will be using effective promotional tools such as tasting events, social media campaigns, market events to promote our products in the most effective way. With both our Turquality project and our marketing activities for fairs and delegations, we will work with great effort to increase the exports of our Association to 1 and a half billion dollars by the end of 2024. We aim to enhance Türkiye’s exports of fruit and vegetable products above the level of 3 billion dollars.”
