Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports reach 268 million dollars in September…

Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, announced that Türkiye exported 268.6 million dollars worth of fresh fruit and vegetables in September with a hike of 10 percent compared to the same period last year. Stating that they exported the most to Russia, Iraq and Germany, Chairman Ferhat Gürüz reported that they achieved the strongest acceleration in export volume in Syria, Dubai, Italy, Poland and the United Arab Emirates.

Emphasising that the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which carries out the coordination and secretariat services of the sector, exported 98.8 million dollars with an increase of 11 percent in September, Ferhat Gürüz said, “We provided the strongest support to the sector exports in the country with a rate of 37 percent.”

‘We exported the most grapes, tomatoes and figs in September’

“As the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector, we evaluated 329 thousand 215 tonnes of products in international markets in September. In this month, we exported the most grapes, tomatoes and figs. We reached an export value of 41.9 million dollars in grapes, 41.6 million dollars in tomatoes, 36.4 million dollars in figs. These products were followed by lemon, peach, pepper, apple, pear, potato and pomegranate,” Gürüz noted.

“In September, we achieved the highest strong increases in export volume in potatoes, watermelon and pomegranate. We exported potatoes worth 8.4 million dollars with an increase of 495 percent, watermelon worth 2.2 million dollars with an increase of 199 percent and pomegranate worth 7.1 million dollars with an increase of 150 percent,” Gürüz added…
