Underlining that food supply is one of the most critical elements of economic stability, social welfare and sustainable development, Hayrettin Uçak, Deputy Coordinator of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations and Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, said that Türkiye stands out in the world as a reliable and sustainable food supplier.
Explaining that Türkiye has written a success story in agriculture and food exports, Uçak highlighted, “Our agriculture and food product exports, which stood at 3.7 billion dollars in 2002, grew ninefold to 32.6 billion dollars in 2024. We account for 1.5 per cent of global agricultural product exports. We do not only supply raw materials to the world. We also offer value-added, processed products. As the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, we are organising Türkiye’s national participation in five food fairs, while also supporting the growth of the country’s food exports through URGE Projects, TURQUALITY Projects, Sectoral Trade Delegations and Purchasing Delegations.”
“We are a food supplier to a wide geographical area stretching from Africa to the Far East and from Europe to America. With our annual fruit and vegetable production reaching over 60 million tonnes, we meet the needs of our 85 million people and have exceeded 6 billion dollars in exports of fresh fruit and vegetables and fruit and vegetable products,” he added…
