A Record Season is Coming: 300 TL and 10 Dollars for Hazelnuts Would Not Be a Surprise
Warning all actors in the sector about extraordinary conditions ahead of the 2025 hazelnut season, Arslantürk stated that prices could reach historic highs in both TL and foreign currency due to low yields and high demand.
Arslantürk explained that the 601,000-tonne harvest estimate announced by the Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters’ Association was not considered reliable by the market and was met with caution, as the harvest estimates announced by the association over the past three seasons had been significantly off the mark.
Pointing out that despite the statements being far from reality, he said, “A significant decline in hazelnut supply is expected with certainty. Hazelnut prices could start at 200 TL and quickly rise to 300 TL. It is highly likely that the price, which reached 8 dollars in the 2014 hazelnut season, will exceed 10 dollars this season and the Turkish lira equivalent will be shaped accordingly.”
