Hazelnut exports from the Eastern Black Sea region in January-April 2024 soared by 36 percent compared to the same period last year and reached 478 million 812 thousand 362 dollars.
Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB) Chairman Saffet Kalyoncu said that hazelnuts were sold to 81 countries, autonomous and free zones in 4 months of the year from the region.
Stating that 478 million 812 thousand 362 dollars of revenue was obtained from this export, Kalyoncu said, “In the same period last year, 353 million 74 thousand 717 dollars of hazelnuts were exported from the Eastern Black Sea region. Hazelnut exports from the region rose by 36 percent in value compared to the same period last year.”
Hazelnut exports to Italy surged by 19 percent…
Kalyoncu reported that Italy, Germany and Poland are the 3 countries where the most hazelnuts are sold and that 123 million 292 thousand 619 dollars worth of hazelnuts were exported to Italy this period.
Indicating that 103 million 272 thousand 770 dollars worth of hazelnuts were sold to Italy in the first 4 months of last year from the region, Kalyoncu said that exports to the country increased by 19 percent.
“Italy was followed by Germany with 91 million 574 thousand 516 dollars and Poland with 38 million 574 thousand 893 dollars. By the way, I would like to draw attention to the diversity of countries in hazelnut exports, in this framework, hazelnuts were sold to Algeria, Dubai, Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Mauritius and Turkmenistan this period,” Kalyoncu added…
