Osman Parlak said, “We exported 9 million dollars in the first 6 months of 2020, but in the first 6 months of 2021, we increased this figure more than 9 times and reached 73 million dollars.”

Stating that a large part of this export is made from Sinop and Samsun regions, Parlak explained, “The pandemic has adversely affected the economies all over the world. None of the export expectations almost did not hold up. However, the salmon fish almost burst. We export to 16 countries, primarily Japan and Russia. We exported 73 million dollars in the same month. Our export target at the end of 2021 is 170 million dollars. We can achieve this very easily.”

2023 TARGET IS 500 MILLION DOLLARS…

Osman Parlak also noted that they have made Turkish salmon a registered trademark. Pointing out that their goal in this sector is to enter the league of giants, Osman Parlak added, “Turkish salmon will constitute one of the biggest items of our country’s large export figure in 2023. Our target is to export 100 thousand tonnes of salmon fish in 2023 and to export 500 million dollars. Our target for 2030 is to produce 200 thousand tonnes of fish and export 1 billion dollars.”

Indicating that 2,500 people in 2023 and 5 thousand people in 2030 will find employment opportunities in the production and export of salmon, Osman Parlak concluded, “One of the most delicious salmon fish in the world is produced in our country. We are working together with many universities, especially the Fisheries Faculty of our Sinop University. We are producing scientifically. Our goal is to produce the most delicious salmon in the world in 2023. This is an achievable target for us.”
