In the 2020/2021 Hazelnut Export season, which took place between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 35 percent of the 292 thousand 83 tonnes of hazelnut exports equivalent to 2 billion 5 million 316 thousand dollars was made from Trabzon province.
As in the previous seasons on a provincial basis, the highest hazelnut export was made from Trabzon region with 98 thousand 727 tonnes in the 2020/2021 season. Trabzon, which ranks first with hazelnut exports of 698 million 134 thousand 231 dollars, was followed by Istanbul in the second place, Giresun in the third and Ordu province in the fourth place.
Commenting on the season, Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB) Hazelnut and Products Sector Committee Chairperson Mehmet Cirav said that 35 percent of the total exported hazelnuts in the season was carried out from Trabzon.
“Hazelnuts were exported to 63 different countries and the most exported countries were Italy, Germany, France, Poland and the People’s Republic of China respectively,” Cirav added…
