The cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector is targeting a spike in exports in the second half of 2026…
With a wide range of products—from baked goods to cereals, vegetable oils to cat and dog food, pulses to confectionery and spices to oilseeds—the Aegean Exporters’ Associations achieved a 23 percent and exports totalling 1,185 million dollars, the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association – which set a record for export growth – recorded exports of 554 million dollars in the first half of 2026.
Muhammet Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses and Oilseeds Exporters’ Association, stated that the pet food sector, in particular, has gained strong momentum in recent years.
Pointing out that 62 percent of Türkiye’s exports in this field are carried out by members of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses and Oilseeds Exporters Association, he said, “The sector, which reached 45.5 million dollars in exports in the first six months, is expected to continue its growth in the coming period with ongoing wet food investments and contribute to reducing the current account deficit.”
Underlining that 14 companies are participating in the International Competition Development Project (UR-GE) project for the pet food sector, he added, “Through participation in trade fairs, trade delegations and training programmes in target markets, we are increasing the global marketing capabilities of our exporters in the pet food sector.”
