The sector provides a favourable ground for new investments…
Hayrettin Uçak, Head of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Exporters’ Assocation, said that Türkiye’s fruit pattern is an advantage for new investments in the fruit juice sector.
Stating that in addition to the country’s existing fruit pattern, the production of tropical fruits is increasing rapidly, Uçak said, “Having the advantage of raw materials, together with the qualified labour force, Türkiye is always among the favourite countries as an investment alternative. We believe that with the driving force of possible investments in the fruit juice sector, the fruit juice sector in the fruit and vegetable products sector in the country will maintain its leadership in exports.”
Fruit juice exports made a bright start to 2024…
Pointing out that the Turkish fruit juice sector made a bright entry into 2024 in exports, Uçak explained, “Türkiye exported 74 million dollars of fruit juice in the January-February period of 2023, while exports in the first two months of 2024 soared by 27 percent to 94 million dollars. We believe that this success will spread throughout 2024. As to fruit juice exports in 2023, apple juice exports were the clear leader with 251 million dollars, while cherry, peach and apricot juice exports contributed 130 million dollars, mixed fruit juices 23 million dollars, orange juice 8 million dollars and grape juice 5 million dollars.”
Türkiye exports fruit juice to 151 countries…
“In Türkiye’s fruit juice exports last year, the United States of America is by far the leading market with an amount of 196 million dollars. The Netherlands ranked second with a demand of 36.5 million dollars and Italy ranked third with 22 million dollars of fruit juice exports. These countries were followed by Germany with 18 million dollars, Canada with 17 million dollars, Japan with 13.5 million dollars and England with 11 million dollars,” Uçak added…
