Hayrettin Uçak: Aegean Region has become the epicentre of dried tomatoes
Hayrettin Uçak, chairman of the Aegean Fresh Fruit, Vegetables and Products Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB), said that 95 percent of dried tomato exports are made from the Aegean Region.
Hayrettin Uçak said, “Our dried tomato export reached 53 million dollars in 2020. We export to 59 countries, primarily Italy, with 15 million dollars. Our main markets have risen by 17 percent to Italy, 36 percent to Poland and 41 percent to Greece. Our oil-dried tomato exports reached 29 million dollars last year. Germany ranks first with 5 million dollars in oil-dried tomatoes that we send to 90 countries.”
“We have experienced increases of up to 60 percent to the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Canada and Australia, which are at the forefront of our exports. One of the astronomical increases was Italy,” Hayrettin Uçak added…
