HAKAN KOÇOĞLU: TURKEY’S FOOD EXPORT POTENTIAL RISES IN PANDEMIC

The market share of Turkish products in ketchup, mayonnaise and sauce categories is gradually increasing in Europe and the USA. Turkey made exports about 19.4 million dollars in tomato-based sauce, 157 million dollars in tomato paste and 15 million dollars in mayonnaise last year.

Hakan Koçoğlu, General Manager of Assan Foods, said that the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic process negatively affected social and economic life worldwide and the food sector came to the fore in this period.

Indicating that the importance of confidence and continuity has soared in food, Koçoğlu noted, “Turkey’s food export potential has boosted in this epidemic process.”

“We are the largest manufaturer in ketchup, sauce and mayonnaise categories in Turkey,” Koçoğlu added.

Pointing out that Assan Foods is also the first sauce exporter of the country, Koçoğlu explained, “We export ketchup, mayonnaise, tomato paste and pepper paste as well as value-added sauces.”
