Chicken meat production in Turkiye increased by 13.4 percent in June compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 219 thousand 493 tonnes, while chicken egg production increased by 2 percent to 1.53 billion units.
Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced the poultry production data for the month of June.
Accordingly, 219 thousand 493 tonnes of chicken meat was produced in June. Production increased by 13.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and increased by 9.8 percent on a monthly basis.
In Turkiye, 1 billion 528 million 58 thousand chicken eggs were produced in June, an annual rise of 2 percent and a monthly decrease of 3.9 percent were recorded.
122 million 212 thousand chickens were slaughtered in June. The number of slaughtered chickens increased by 13.3 percent compared to June 2021.
In this period, turkey meat production soared by 11.7 percent on an annual basis and rose to 5 thousand 16 tonnes.
In the January-June period, the number of slaughtered chickens surged by 12.8 percent, turkey and chicken meat production surged by 10 percent and chicken egg production surged by 0.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
