Öztürk: Cereals, pulses and oilseeds are the leader in food exports
Muhammet Öztürk, Chairperson of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, in his written statement, said that as the cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector, they have realized a slice of 11.2 billion dollars of Türkiye’s 25 billion dollars of food exports by themselves.
“We made 42 percent of Türkiye’s food exports. We believe that intensive efforts should be made to surge the production of agricultural products that can be grown in Anatolian lands, especially vegetable oil, wheat, barley, corn and pulses, which the country has a foreign trade deficit with,” he said.
“If we boost our agricultural production with the right programme, we believe that our annual exports will increase and our food imports, which is at the level of 18.6 billion dollars by the end of 2022, will decrease further,” he added…
