55th International Algeria Fair (FIA 2024) was attended by Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association as the Coordinator Association representing the Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Associations Sector Board (EİB-İİB-GAİB), Istanbul Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association and Mediterranean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association under the coordination of Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association with a joint info stand.

83 percent hike in exports of seafood and animal products…

Bedri Girit, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, said that while the exports of the sector to Algeria was 2.1 million dollars in 2023, in the first half of 2024, 3 million dollars of seafood and animal products were exported to this country with a hike of 83 percent.

Pointing out that in order to raise the awareness of Turkish salmon, which is one of Türkiye’s star products in exports in recent years, in the Algerian market, Girit added, “We have conveyed information about the sector with various promotional products. There is also a significant potential in milk and dairy products. Since our exports of fisheries and animal products to Algeria are very limited, we are working to improve this.”
