Aydın Commodity Exchange continues to carry Türkiye’s agricultural values to the highest level in the international platform.

Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman Fevzi Çondur, who made a statement about the geographically marked product of Aydın Memecik Olive (variety) registered in the European Union, said that Geographical indications reflect the unique agro-ecological and cultural heritage of a region, while providing great economic benefits to the producers.
“After Aydın Chestnut and Aydın Memecik Olive Oil, now with the registration of Aydın Memecik Olive by the European Union, as Aydın Commodity Exchange, we continue to carry the agricultural values of our country to the highest level in the international arena. We are proud to be the first institution among chambers and exchanges to have three products registered in the European Union. With the registration of Aydın Memecik Olive in the European Union, its export potential will surge along with its awareness and preference in the global market will rise as well,” Çondur said.

Çondur also thanked all stakeholders who contributed to the process and added, “I would like to thank Huriye Özener, our Geographical Indications Consultant, who guided us in the European Union geographical indication registration process of Aydın Memecik Olive, Professor Dr. Engin Ertan from Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture, Department of Fruit Cultivation and Breeding, who added value to the process with his scientific contributions and everyone who contributed.”
