Apple yield in Isparta region drops 30 percent due to frost!

Can Selçuk, Head of Isparta Chamber of Agriculture, stated that this year’s apple yield has decreased by 30 percent compared to last year as a result of the agricultural frost. As harvest season approaches, apple production in the region is experiencing difficulties.

Can Selçuk also noted that this year’s frost across the country resulted in a 30 percent loss in apples, saying, “Last year, our yield was around 1.25 million tonnes. This year, we expect a yield of approximately 900 thousand tonnes.”

Harvest season is approaching in Isparta province, Türkiye’s leading apple producer. The apple harvest, which begins in mid-September every year and lasts for approximately two months, has decreased this year due to the frost. While various varieties of apples such as ‘Scarlet’, ‘Jonathan’, ‘Golden’, ‘Pink Lady’ and ‘Fuj’ are grown in the region, it was announced that the yield will decrease by approximately 30 percent this year…
