Record production of trout and Turkish salmon in Kastamonu region…

Türkiye’s Northwestern Black Sea province of Kastamonu is achieving a great success in trout and Turkish salmon production with 14 enterprises operating in dams and land facilities.

210 TONNES OF PRODUCTION IN THE FIRST 9 MONTHS OF THE YEAR…
According to the data of Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, 210 tonnes of trout were produced in the first 9 months of 2024 and this figure is aimed to reach 420 tonnes by the end of the year. The fish produced are exported to different countries, especially Russia and Belarus.

HARVEST SEASON STARTED…
Trout and Turkish salmon harvest has started with the participation of Kastamonu Provincial Deputy Director of Agriculture and Forestry Özcan Gazioğlu, Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Manager Mehmet Çabuk and Taşköprü Agriculture and Forestry District Manager Mehmet İpek. Gazioğlu received information about the harvest process from the enterprises and wished the producers a successful season.

SUPPORT FOR PRODUCTION…
Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry made a support payment of 365 thousand 457 TL to aquaculture producers in Kastamonu region. With these supports, it is aimed to increase the capacity of aquaculture facilities in the region and to develop export potential.

KASTAMONU RISES IN AQUACULTURE…
Kastamonu is becoming an important centre in aquaculture. This success achieved in the production of Turkish salmon and trout with both the support provided and modern production techniques continues to enhance the impact of the region in aquaculture exports.
