“The Spice Technical Committee, established within the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, continues its work to strengthen the value-added, sustainable and competitive structure of the Turkish spice sector in international markets. The Aegean Region, which has a significant share in Turkish spice exports, continues to maintain its strong position in the global market for many products, particularly oregano and bay leaves,” Gürle said.

“Established in 2025, the Committee continues its activities to strengthen sector coordination, increase data-driven studies, closely monitor legislation and technical compliance processes and ensure effective representation on international platforms,” Gürle noted.

Highlighting that the Non-Wood Forest Products Technical Committee will continue its work with a proactive approach in 2026, Gürle added, “It will continue technical harmonisation efforts in target markets, particularly the European Union and the United States, and will continue to effectively represent our sector on the international stage. These efforts aim to further enhance the global competitiveness of the Turkish spice and forest products sector.”
