YASİN OTUZOĞLU: EXPORT OF TURKISH ORNAMENTAL PLANTS WILL BOOST AT LEAST 3 TIMES IN 5 YEARS

Turkey, which has become a more exporting country by decreasing its imports with the increasing quality production in the field of outdoor ornamental plants in recent years, aims to boost its foreign sales at least 2-3 times in 5 years with new markets.

Yasin Otuzoğlu

Yasin Otuzoğlu, Chairperson of the Chamber of Landscape Architects, who came to the city for the PSB Anatolia 2021 Landscape, Ornamental Plants, Horticultural Arts and Equipment Fair held in Sakarya on September 8-11, stated that the ornamental plants industry is developing day by day.

“We aim to expand the export figures at least two or three fold”

Pointing out that the sector exported over 80 million dollars last year, Otuzoğlu continued his words as follows:

“As growers and industry components, our goal in the next 5 years is to at least double or triple these export figures and to reach new countries. Currently, exports are already made to countries such as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. In addition, from here to European countries such as Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. We started to make serious exports to the Balkan countries as well. Export is a very important target for us.”
