Good news from Minister Pakdemirli: National Parks will be opened to beekeepers for Pine Honey
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, who stated that the damage assessments of 7 thousand 735 farmers in 9 provinces, 26 districts and 180 villages have been completed, said, “53 thousand 735 decares of cultivated land, 609 decares of greenhouses, 403 cattle, 4 thousand 452 ovines, 7 thousand 822 beehives, 2 thousand 167 agricultural structures were damaged.”
Pakdemirli explained, “Wounds will be healed in Muğla Pine Honey production areas and beekeepers will be provided with hive support. For the production of pine honey, the borders of the National Parks will be opened and our beekeepers will be able to stay.”

Emphasizing that Muğla Pine Honey is very important for the world and Turkey, Pakdemirli added, “Unfortunately, 4,500 hives with bees identified so far have been damaged. Damage assessments continue with our friends in the field. Wounds will be healed in Muğla Pine Honey production areas, which is the centre of Turkey. Hive support will be provided to beekeepers. National Parks will be opened for the production of pine honey and our beekeepers will be able to stay.”
