Central Anatolian province of Niğde, which ranks second after Black Sea’s Samsun region in Türkiye’s white cabbage production, has reached the end of the harvest season.

The yield, which was 132,155 tonnes in 2024, is expected to exceed 135,000 tonnes this year. Furkan Mete, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry in Niğde, said that Niğde accounts for 20 percent of the white cabbage grown in the country.
Niğde region, famous for its apples, has also risen to the top ranks in cabbage production. In Niğde, which ranks second after Samsun, 19,240 decares of land were planted with cabbage this year. The white cabbage harvest, which began about two months ago in the province, is coming to an end. The yield, which was 132,155 tonnes in 2024, is expected to exceed 135,000 tonnes this year.
