Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, announced that Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports in January totalled 353.5 million dollars. Stating that the Mediterranean Region exported 173.8 million dollars in the same period, Chairman Ferhat Gürüz said that as the Association, they provided 49 percent support to the exports of the sector.

Noting that the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which carries out coordinator and secretariat services as the leader of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector in Türkiye, continues its efforts to strengthen in traditional markets and to increase market diversity, Ferhat Gürüz said, “We organised a promotional summit in Poland, made high-level visits and made examinations in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the citrus sector.”

“We held the Türkiye-Poland Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Summit with the motto ‘Fresh From Türkiye’ on 23 January in Poland, which imports approximately 3.4 billion dollars of fresh fruit and vegetables annually, within the scope of the Turquality Overseas Promotion Support of the Ministry of Trade,” he added.
Pointing out that they are working to promote and popularise Turkish products in Poland, where they exported 120.6 million dollars of fresh fruit and vegetables last year and to bring them to Polish kitchens and restaurant menus, he concluded, “In addition to our consultations with Poland’s senior executives, we have developed existing collaborations and evaluated new opportunities in our meetings with the managers of the leading supermarket chains in this country, representatives of large importer companies and sector professionals.”
