A promotional film has been prepared as part of the global branding effort for Turkish salmon, whose exports have increased 17-fold in the last five years within the Turkish fisheries sector.
The Turkish Exporters’ Assembly’s (TIM) Fisheries and Animal Products Sector Board is implementing a project to ramp up the global market share of Turkish salmon, which is exported to 45 countries, primarily Russia, Belarus and Japan.
The project aims to highlight the superior qualities of Turkish salmon, which distinguishes itself with its lower fat content and higher Omega-3 content compared to its competitors. A promotional film and public relations campaign for the international press have been launched as part of the project.
The promotional film, starring Turkish salmon, was shot in offshore net cages, hatcheries and salmon processing facilities in the Black Sea, as well as in cage operations on dam lakes in Eastern Anatolia.
The film documents the journey of Turkish salmon, starting in hatcheries on rivers, continuing through inland waterways and from offshore farms to the table. Analyses conducted at the laboratories of the Central Fisheries Research Institute (SUMAE) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry were also included.
