Pine honey, one of Türkiye’s most important bee products and a type of secretion honey unique to the country, has been registered as a geographical indication by the Turkish Patent Office under the name ‘Turkish Pine Honey’.

Pine honey, a type of secretion honey unique to the country, is produced by the Anatolian honeybee in the red pine forests along the Aegean coast, accounting for approximately 92 percent of the world’s total harvest. Pine honey, one of Türkiye’s most important bee products in terms of both production volume and commercial contribution, is also among the leading honey varieties in exports.
The geographical indication registration of Turkish Pine Honey was published by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (Turkish Patent) in the Official Geographical Indication and Traditional Product Name Bulletin No. 202 dated 1 August 2025.
