The cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector, which holds the export leadership with a share of over 30 percent of total exports in Southeastern Anatolia, exceeded 2 billion dollars in exports in the January-July period with a 6.6 percent increase.
During this period, exports soared by 0.3 percent in tonnage to exceed 2.5 million tonnes, with approximately 250,000 tonnes of sunflower oil exports generating 365.3 million dollars in revenue, accounting for 57.6 percent of Türkiye’s total sunflower oil exports. During this period, approximately 600,000 tonnes of pasta were exported, generating 345.8 million dollars in revenue, with the Southeast’s share of the country’s total pasta exports reaching 66.8 percent.
While exports to Africa maintained their momentum with a 28.6 percent spike during this period, a 9.5 percent decline in the Iraqi market resulted in a revenue loss of over 60 million dollars. The largest decline in cereals exports to Iraq was observed in the pastry and milling product groups, while a 55.3 million dollar spike in exports to the Syrian market offset these losses…
