Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, which alone carries out 43 percent of Türkiye’s exports in the fisheries and animal products sector, participated in the Winter Fancy Food Show Fair held in Las Vegas between 21-23 January 2024 and promoted Turkish aquatic products which prepared the ground for the sector to make new commercial connections.

Informing that they participated for the third time in the Winter Fancy Food Show Fair, which took place for the 48th time this year, Sinan Kızıltan, Chair of the Turkish Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters Sector Board, said, “The US market has become a strong market for the Turkish fisheries industry in the last 15 years with the increase in the flights of Turkish Cargo. Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association members made 64 percent of our exports of 123.4 million dollars to the USA. Thanks to the TURQUALITY Project, which Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB) has been carrying out for the last 4 years to raise the awareness and preference of Turkish food products in the US market.”
Pointing out that Türkiye’s food exports to the USA have doubled in the last 5 years and exports of fishery and animal products have soared 3 times, Kızıltan noted, “We believe that this increase will continue. We rank 37th among the suppliers of the USA in the aquaculture and animal products sector. Our aim is to reach an export level of 500 million dollars to the USA in the medium term and to go higher in the ranking of suppliers of the USA.”
Winter Fancy Food Show Fair is attended by 900 companies from nearly 40 countries every year and the fair hosts 10 thousand professional visitors annually.
Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association showed promotional films about Türkiye’s fishery and animal products sub-sectors of aquaculture, poultry meat, eggs and dairy products to the fair participants and exhibited Turkish aquaculture products, especially Turkish salmon and sea bass.
