TURKEY OUTPACES CHINA IN TANGERINE EXPORTS…

Turkey has managed to surpass China, the largest producer in the world, with an average annual export of 759 thousand tonnes of tangerine.

Turkey outpaced China, the largest tangerine producer globally, during the period 2015-2020, with an annual average of 759 thousand tonnes of tangerine exports.

Following China, which ranked second with an average of 644 thousand tonnes of exports, Morocco ranked third with an export of 508 thousand tonnes of tangerines.

A report that contains the evaluations of South African Citrus Growers’ Association (CGA) for the term of 2015-2021 reveals that Turkey has outstripped China in tangerine exports.

Turkey ranks first in exports while China ranks first in the production!

Accordingly, Turkey took the first place in 2015-2020 period with an average annual export of 759 thousand tonnes of tangerines.

The People’s Republic of China ranked 2nd with 644 thousand tonnes of exports, while Morocco, South Africa and the European Union exported 508 thousand tonnes, 294 thousand tonnes and 98 thousand tonnes of tangerines, respectively, ranking 3, 4 and 5.

In the same period, the top 5 countries in tangerine production were listed as; China (21.68 million tonnes), the EU (3.1 million tonnes), Turkey (1.45 million tonnes), Morocco (1.17 million tonnes), the USA (875,000 tonnes).
