Tomatoes produced in thermal greenhouses in Çaldıran district of Van province are sent to Antalya by lorries.
Mehmet Emin Bilmez, the Governor of Van and the Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, who visited the greenhouses, said that it is very important to send tomatoes from Van to Antalya and that they will always support the farmers who produce.
Çaldıran tomatoes, began to be produced in thermal greenhouses four years ago in the district, took the place on stalls in many provinces as well as Antalya which has an important place in Turkey’s vegetable production.
Van Governor and Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Bilmez, who inspected the greenhouses before the lorries were sent to Antalya, said that they would always support the farmers engaged in production.
