Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association announced that between January and April 2026, 71,000 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Türkiye, generating foreign exchange earnings of 990,967,000 dollars. When compared to the same period of the previous year, these export figures represent a 31 percent decrease in volume and a 17 percent spike in value.

In the first four months of the year, exports were made to 104 different countries; the top five export destinations were, in order, Germany, Italy, France, Poland and Brazil.
In the first eight months of the hazelnut export season, which began in September, 135,117 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported, generating foreign exchange earnings of 1 billion 776 million 651 thousand dollars. Compared to the same period of the previous year, exports saw a 43 percent decrease in volume and an 8 percent decrease in value.
When assessing hazelnut exports from the province of Trabzon, 21,728 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Trabzon in the first four months of 2026, generating foreign exchange earnings of 352 million 720 thousand dollars. Compared to the same period of the previous year, a 35 percent decrease in export volume was recorded, whilst there was a 19 per cent increase in value. During the January–April period, 36 percent of the hazelnut exports from the country were carried out from Trabzon, which ranks first in hazelnut exports.
In the first eight months of the hazelnut export season, exports from Trabzon amounted to 29,896 tonnes, worth 451 million 523 thousand dollars; compared to the same period of the previous season, there was a 57 percent decrease in volume and a 27 percent decrease in value.
