Export champion tangerine’s 2024 target 600 million dollars export…
Harvest and export time has come for satsuma tangerine, the harbinger of autumn and the natural healing store of flu and colds.
As a result of the examinations carried out by the ‘Commission for Determining the Cutting and Export Dates of Satsuma Tangerine Variety’ established under the chairmanship of the Aegean Customs and Foreign Trade Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Trade and the analysis of the samples taken at the Izmir Laboratory Directorate; hence, it was decided to allow the Satsuma Mandarin variety to be cut on 14 October 2024 and exported on 18 October 2024.
Hayrettin Uçak, Head of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, who informed that Türkiye is among the top three countries in the world with an annual production of 1.9 million tonnes of tangerine, emphasised that satsuma tangerine is the most popular type of tangerine.
“Türkiye’s tangerines are sufficient for both the domestic market and exports. We invite all our citizens to consume 2-3 tangerines daily in order to stay healthy and vigorous in autumn and winter seasons,” Uçak added…
