Yağcı: We are the world leader in Aegean oregano and laurel
Cahit Doğan Yağcı, Chairperson of the Aegean Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association, said that although there are serious problems in logistics in the world, however Turkiye evaluates this position very well.
Yağcı said, “Our biggest advantage against export giant China is the logistics location of our country. Oregano, laurel and sage are our value added products. All of Turkiye’s oregano and laurel exports are made from the Aegean region. At the same time, we have the largest share in the world. We have seen the importance of having such high value-added products during the pandemic period.”
“We are opening new oregano production areas with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Denizli province, our biggest producer region. As for our expectation, our farmers to produce more consciously and efficiently and to harvest their products. Still, we should also diversify our products,” Yağcı added…
