Mehmet Çıkmaz: Southeast Anatolia dried fruit exports exceeded 241 million dollars

Members of the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Associations exported a total of 241 million 49 thousand dollars of dried fruits to 94 countries in 9 months of 2024. Exports of many products, especially dried apricots and pistachios, showed significant increases.

Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Associations (GAİB) member companies exported 241 million 49 thousand dollars of dried fruits to 94 countries in 9 months.

Mehmet Çıkmaz, President of Southeastern Anatolia Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, said that they will reach their year-end targets in dried fruit exports.

Expressing that they are satisfied with exports, Çıkmaz said, “Türkiye’s basic and most important agricultural products of dried fruit exports, which are among the most important agricultural products of the January-September period of 2024 when the sector exports are examined, exports of dried fruits and products from our region soared by 28.4 percent compared to the same period last year and reached 241 million 49 thousand dollars.”

“In the 9-month period of 2024, dried apricot exports from our Association surged by 22.8 percent compared to the same period last year and reached 100 million 316 thousand dollars. Pistachio exports surged by 51.3 percent to 94 million 906 thousand dollars. Dried apricots and pistachios were followed by other dried fruits with an increase of 6.6 per cent and approximately 20 million dollars and dried figs with an increase of 5.7 percent and 11 thousand 358 million dollars. When the 9-month period is examined, it is seen that our dried apricot and pistachio exports constitute 81 percent of the total sector exports of our region.”
