National Nutrition Council decisions are being implemented!

The road map to be followed in line with the decisions of the National Nutrition Council was discussed at a meeting organised. At the meeting; Enriching foods with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D, folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron, Reducing salt and sugar intake in the diet, Determining the foods to be offered for sale in school canteens, Implementation of calorie declarations and square code applications in restaurants, cafes and restaurant menus were discussed.

Within the scope of Türkiye’s Healthy Nutrition and Active Life Programme, an evaluation meeting on the path to be followed and the activities to be carried out in line with the decisions of the National Nutrition Council Meeting was held on 7 April at the General Directorate of Food and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Priority topics for healthy nutrition…

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department of Healthy Nutrition and Active Life of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health and the relevant department heads and technical staff from the General Directorate of Food and Control.

The following topics were discussed in detail at the meeting:

Food fortification with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D, folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron,

Reducing salt and sugar intake in the diet,

Determination of foods to be offered for sale in school canteens,

Implementation of calorie declarations and square code applications in restaurant, café and restaurant menus.
