Mutlu Doğru, President of the Adana Farmers’ Association, issued a warning that the vast majority of farmers, who experienced significant crop losses and yield reductions due to drought and extreme heat, which began with frost in 2025 and led to rising costs, will have their loan repayment due in October, November and December.

In a written statement, Doğru said, “We are concerned that the number of farmers unable to repay their loans will increase during these months. This situation could, of course, lead to the transfer of assets or the halting of production, potentially leading to a full-blown agricultural crisis.”
