Pasta, which harmonises well with cheese, chicken, fish, tomatoes, minced meat, spices and sauces, is among the important export products of Türkiye.
In the 9-month period of 2024, Türkiye ramped up its pasta exports by 9 percent from 606 million dollars to 659 million dollars and strengthened its position in the second place across the world.
Informing that Türkiye served pasta to the tables of 155 countries in the January-September period of 2024, Muhammet Öztürk, Head of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, highlighted that the country has the potential to exceed 1 billion dollars in pasta exports in 2025.
Underlining that Türkiye’s pasta exports have soared from 577 million dollars to 813 million dollars with an increase of 41 percent in the last 5 years, Öztürk said, “We can reach an export volume of 1 billion 250 million dollars in the next 5 years by maintaining a similar course in pasta. From Europe to the Far East, from America to Africa, we have a strong presence all over the world. The diversity in the export markets of our pasta sector encourages us to reach our targets.”
Japan, USA and China among the top 10 countries in pasta exports…
Somalia ranked first in the country’s pasta exports with an amount of 93 million dollars, while Venezuela demanded 70 million dollars of Turkish pasta. Pasta exports to Ghana increased by 80 percent to 55 million dollars, while Japan ranked fourth in the list with 54.5 million dollars of Turkish pasta.
The fifth country in pasta exports was Togo with 40 million dollars, while our pasta exports to the USA increased by 33 per cent from 15 million dollars to 20 million dollars. Türkiye sent pasta worth 16 million dollars to China and 14 million dollars to Cameroon. These countries were followed by Benin, Niger and Iraq…
