FISHERY AND ANIMAL PRODUCT EXPORTERS AIM TO REACH 250 MILLION DOLLARS TO THE USA…

Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, which realizes 60 percent of Türkiye’s aquaculture and animal products exports to the USA, participated in the Winter Fancy Food Show Fair held in Las Vegas on January 15-17.

Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association Chairperson Bedri Girit said that 900 companies from nearly 40 countries attend the Winter Fancy Food Show Fair every year and the fair welcomes 10 thousand visitors annually.

“We participated in the fair for the second time this year by our association. Türkiye-wide aquaculture and animal products exports to the USA soared by 746 percent in 10 years, from 12 million dollars to 104 million dollars. We have ramped up our exports from our Association to the USA from 5 million dollars to 62 million dollars in the last 10 years,” Girit said.

On the other hand Türkiye Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Associations Sector Board Chair Sinan Kızıltan stated that in 2022, 52 percent of the aquaculture and animal products exports from Türkiye to the USA and 80 percent of fisheries and animal products exports from Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) to the USA were aquatic products.”

“With the hike in the number of flights to the USA and the development of capacity in air cargo, we will have the potential to increase our exports of fisheries and animal products to 250 million dollars. We successfully completed the first four-year phase of our Turkish Tastes Turquality project, which we carried out with the support of the Ministry of Trade in the US market, together with our 6 Food Associations within the EIB, by reaching our targets. We are carrying out our preparations for the second phase of the project with great care,” he added…
