Muğla’s fishery exports reach 422 million dollars in the first half of the year…

Fishery exports from Türkiye’s Southwestern province of Muğla in the first half of 2026 rose by 25 percent compared with the same period last year, reaching 422 million dollars.

In Muğla, which accounts for a significant share of the country’s marine aquaculture production, both production volumes and export volumes continue to rise.

Fish reared at the facilities are processed at processing centres into fresh, chilled, frozen or filleted products.

The products are exported to over 70 countries, including the US, Russia and Japan, as well as being sold on the domestic market.

According to information compiled by an Anatolian Agency (AA) correspondent from data provided by the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, revenue from seafood exports rose by 25 percent compared to the first six months of last year, reaching approximately 85 million dollars. The volume of products exported during this period amounted to approximately 42,000 tonnes. Over the six-month period, revenue from seafood exports totalled 422 million dollars.

Sea bream, sea bass and trout lead the way in exports, whilst gurnard and other seafood are also in demand in overseas markets…
