Mehmet Ali Işık, Vice President of Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, said that Turkish Grain Board (TMO) should continue to be a regulator in raisin industry.
Sharing the information that the price of raisins is over 2 dollars in 2019-20 season, Mehmet Ali Işık stated, “TMO should continue to regulate its duty in order not to falling down of grape prices.”
“We should have 40-50 thousand tons of safety stocks in raisins. On the other hand, in Australia, between 900 and 1000 kg of grapes are obtained per decare. We need to install these systems and increase efficiency,” Işık added.
