According to the regulation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the beet purchase price is agreed between the companies and the producers; Sugar sales prices will be freely determined by the companies. Companies will not be able to make agreements with the aim of preventing, disrupting or restricting competition in sugar prices and the associations formed by the companies cannot take such decisions and actions.
With the Sugar and Raw Materials Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 5 June 2021 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the procedures and principles regarding the supply, production, marketing and pricing of sugar and its raw materials in order to meet the domestic sugar demand with domestic production and to ensure sustainability in the sugar sector.
According to the Regulation, which covers the procedures and principles regarding the supply and pricing of sugar raw materials and the production, marketing and determination of the price of sugar, the sugar beet required for the production and supply guarantee of the beet sugar quotas allocated to companies or factories, from the determined cultivation areas, with the producers or their representatives, companies or factories will be provided through a contract between them.
