Mediterranean exporters carry Turkish bulgur to the Russian showcase…

The Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB), which prepared the Bulgur Promotion Project in order to spread the consumption of bulgur, which has a special place in Turkish cuisine, all over the world and to increase its exports, carried out comprehensive activities in Russia, which was identified as the target market for this product.

Within the scope of the Bulgur Promotion Project supported by the Turquality Support Programme of the Ministry of Trade, the promotion programme hosted by Tanju Bilgiç, Ambassador of Türkiye to Moscow, Veysel Memiş, Chairman of AHBİB, Ahmet Tiryakioğlu, Chairman of the Turkish Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Sector Board, was attended by representatives of Russia’s leading public institutions and non-governmental organisations. In the event, which attracted great interest from Russian gastronomy enthusiasts, bulgur salad with pomegranate sour prepared by the famous Chef Arda Türkmen, bulgur meatballs with garlic on yoghurt bed, long cooked lamb with apricots on firik with clotted cream and bulgur pudding with mountain fruit and cocoa were served to the guests.

Ambassador Bilgiç: Agricultural products are of great importance in our exports to Russia

Speaking at the promotional event, Ambassador Bilgiç reminded that there is a trade volume target of 100 billion dollars between the two countries. Stating that Russia is the 6th largest market in Türkiye’s exports, Bilgiç said, “Agricultural products are of great importance in foreign trade.”

Pointing out that bulgur is one of the most important ingredients of uniquely flavoured Turkish dishes, Bilgiç emphasised that it is also very healthy due to its rich nutritional value as it is less processed than most agricultural products.

“We are organising this event to make bulgur, which we always consume very fondly, better known and known in the Russian market. Thus, both our Russian friends will get to know bulgur and we will boost our bilateral trade,” Bilgiç added…
