Stating that 1,291,000 inspections had been carried out since 1 January 2025, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced they have launched a programme in 81 provinces to inspect businesses that produce and sell food and beverages that are consumed heavily by our citizens, especially until 31 December.”

“As the ministry, we are here to support the sector in establishing a methodology to weed out the rotten eggs by creating an internal self-regulation mechanism,” Yumaklı said.
Speaking at an event organised by the Association of All Restaurants and Tourism Professionals (TÜRES), Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı emphasized that gastronomy is not just an industry, but also one of the most powerful expressions of a country’s culture, identity and civilisation.
Yumaklı also underlined that the transfer of experience and knowledge would significantly contribute to strengthening the sector, as well as enhancing unity and solidarity. He pointed out that the Ministry attaches particular importance to branding, food safety and combating waste.

Agriculture Minister Yumaklı stressed that food safety is a red line and that they conduct an average of 1.3 million inspections each year in the country, adding that 1,291,000 inspections have been carried out since 1 January this year.
