Aytaç Sevimli, Head of the Ankara Roasted Coffee, Dried Fruit and Nuts Sellers’ Association, shared his assessments with an Anatolian Agency (AA) correspondent regarding the merchants’ expectations and preparations for New Year’s Eve.

Sevimli stated that with only a few days left until the New Year, merchants have completed their preparations and shops have begun to see increased activity. “Dried nuts, an indispensable part of our New Year’s tables, will take their place on the tables this year as they do every year. Experts also state that when consumed in moderation, dried nuts provide significant health benefits,” he said.
Sevimli mentioned that there has been an increase in dried fruit prices this year, largely due to global warming and climate change.
‘Mixed dried nuts are the most popular choice for New Year’s Eve’
Sevimli highlighted that shopkeepers are striving to sell at affordable prices so that every citizen can consume dried nuts during New Year’s Eve, adding that the price per kilogram of mixed dried nuts ranges from 390 to 890 lira.
