Under the auspices of the Governorship of Ağrı, a European Union Geographical Indication registration application will be made in order to increase the international recognition of Ağrı Geven Honey, to provide economic contribution to the beekeepers in the region and to increase the value of its brand.
The application process, which will be a first in the northeastern Anatolian province of Ağrı, has officially kicked off with the protocol signed between Serhat Development Agency Secretary General Nurullah Karaca, Ağrı Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mehmet Hüseyinoğlu and Ağrı Provincial Beekeepers Association Vice Chairman Taha Karakoç.
