Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, announced that the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector exported 360.6 million dollars in November. Stating that they exported the most tangerines, lemons and oranges in the 11th month of the year and that these three products accounted for 54 percent of the export amount of the sector, Ferhat Gürüz said, “We reached the highest values in the Russian, Ukrainian and Iraqi markets. Meanwhile, the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, which exported 199 million dollars with an increase of 8 percent in the said period, supported the sector’s exports by 55 percent.”
‘We explained our advantages to potential buyers at the Global Fresh Market Fair in Russia’
Pointing out that they added new important moves in November in order to enhance the performance of the sector in Russia, which is the largest market in Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports, Gürüz explained, “We participated in the Global Fresh Market 2024 Fair held in Moscow between 6-8 November. Global Fresh Market Fair brings together all stakeholders of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector and creates an important platform for the promotion of products and the exhibition of innovative technologies. Supported by state institutions such as the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the Russian Federation Council Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management, the fair offers participants the opportunity to establish business contacts, discover new markets and follow the latest innovations in the sector. In this fair, which we participated with an info booth, we explained to potential buyers the quality of Turkish fresh fruit and vegetables and the advantages of trading with the members of our Association.”
