Celebrating 18 March Global Recycling Day…
Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) Faculty Member and Chairwoman of the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D) Professor Dr. Filiz Karaosmanoğlu emphasized the importance of recyclables as the seventh natural resource.
Dr. Karaosmanoğlu made special statements for 18 March World Recycling Day with the call to save our planet and support recycling.
She said, “Recyclables, which are accepted as the seventh natural resource after air, water, coal, oil, natural gas and minerals, are waste after completing their useful life in our lives such as wood, battery, glass, electrical-electronic items, paper, metal, automobile, plastic, oils as valuable raw materials.”
“These are not actually garbage, they are domestic raw materials for our industry. Therefore, our waste is our green opportunity,” she added…
