‘We should give equal importance to quantity and branding in exports’
Nihat Uysallı, President of Pasta Producers and Industrialists Association (MÜSAD), announced that the Turkish Pasta sector has achieved a significant success in exports with the efforts of all stakeholders, especially industrialists, over the years and that Türkiye has an important position in the world pasta market today.

“Our country is the homeland of durum wheat, we are a very lucky sector in this respect. However, we have the potential to further increase our share in the world pasta trade with our raw materials and advanced technology industrial facilities. In order to mobilise this potential, we need to strengthen the image of ‘Turkish Pasta’ and boost our value-added exports. By giving equal importance to quantity and branding in exports and focusing on branding, we can get more share from the world pasta market and contribute more to the development of our sector and our country’s economy,” Uysallı said.
Stating that Türkiye exports pasta to Japan, which is considered to be the leading country in the world in terms of food safety, Uysallı added, “Of course, regardless of the price and quality range, it is our preference that the pasta demand all over the world is met by the industrialists of our country. Therefore, we need to produce quality standards according to the demand in the world.”
